Experts in Airfield & Highway Pavements Meet at T&DI Event in Miami
T&DI International Airfield & Highway Pavements Conference was held from June 7-10, 2015 in Miami, Florida. The conference serve as a premiere event of airfield and highway pavement professionals. It kicked off with welcoming remarks from Brian McKeehan, P.E., M.ASCE, President of T&DI, and Bob Stevens, P.E., F.ASCE, President of ASCE, followed by keynote speeches from Thomas Byron, P.E., Chief Engineer, FDOT, and Pedro Hernández, P.E., Assistant Director, Miami Dade Aviation Department. The conference included 140 presentations under multiple sessions across 4 tracks, plus a luncheon lecture from Carl J. Monismith Award Winner, Matthew W. Witczak, Ph.D. The conference also included technical tours of Fort Lauderdale International Airport Expansion Project and SR 826/SR 836 Interchange Reconstruction Project. Workshops on Sustainability through Pavement Preservation and FAA PAVEAIR were held as pre-conference events. The conference had a bustling exhibit hall with multiple activities to maximize attendees' interaction with the exhibitors and enhance their knowledge on pavement-related products and services.
